frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to register for this run?
Absolutely nothing! This is strictly for fun & to raise awareness for Mental Health Week. We will have swag bags guaranteed for the first 200 people (given out the day of the run), so please register early if you want to receive these goodies!
What do I do after I register?
Registration means that you are committing to Move for Mental Health, any time between May 1-7 (for Mental Health Week). That means you can move any way you like: run, walk, roller blade, bike, dance, wheel your wheelchair, etc. for any distance or amount of time YOU choose, wherever you choose to move!
Are there prizes for the fastest runners?
As this is strictly an awareness walk/run, we will not be timing participants' walk/runs so no prizes will be given out for fastest times.
How can I register?
The easiest method of registration is to do so online by clicking here.
I am an educator & would like to take my whole class out to participate in Move for Mental Health. Can I easily register all my students?
Yes you can! We have created a special Eventbrite site just for this purpose. We wanted to make it easy to register a whole class with a few quick clicks so that we make sure you are all included in our participant numbers. Simply follow the link here to get started.
Do I need to be part of a team or can I register as an individual?
Feel free to create or join an existing team, or show up to run/walk as an individual....it's your choice! But as enjoyable as it will be to participate in this event on your own, imagine how much fun it would be to put together a team of friends or workmates! Challenge other schools or workplaces to see who can create the largest teams or who shows up in the best outfits! Just remember to follow all COVID-19 guidelines if you are participating with a team.
I registered as an individual but now I wish to be part of a team. What do I do?!
It's pretty easy. You will need to find out the name of the team you which to join and then go to your Eventbrite registration. Follow the instructions as provided here.
Why are we being asked to dress in green or to wear silly hats?
Mostly because it adds more fun to the event but there is a specific reason we've asked you to participate in this way. Green is the color chosen for mental health awareness (thus the green ribbon logo we've created!) and as this is a kick-off to Mental Health Week, we felt it was only fitting. Also, the Wednesday of Mental Health Week is also Children's Mental Health Day and is often marked in schools with Hats On for Mental Health, a day when students are encouraged to wear their hats in recognition of the day and to bring awareness of children's mental health issues.
